This explains what we collect, why we are allowed to hold it, and how anyone — customer or supporter — can ask us to remove it.
The short version
Fan Standings helps a creator understand who supports their live streams. To do that we record activity that is already public in a live stream the creator has connected — who sent a gift, who commented, who followed — and turn it into a record the creator can look back on.
That means we hold information about two groups of people: the customers who open an account, and the viewers who take part in those live streams. This page explains both, and how anyone in either group can ask us to remove their information.
Information about account holders
When you create an account we collect your name, your email address, the name you give your workspace, and the account handle you ask us to follow. Your password is stored only as a irreversible cryptographic hash — we cannot read it, and nobody at the company can tell you what it is.
We use this to run your account, keep you signed in, enforce the limits of your plan, and contact you about the service. We do not sell it, and we do not use it for advertising.
Information about viewers and supporters
When a customer runs a capture, we record the activity that is publicly visible to everyone watching that live stream: the display name or handle taking part, gifts sent and their published value, comments, likes, follows, and shares, along with the time each happened. We combine these into a per-person summary and a score used for leaderboards.
We do not collect private messages, contact details, payment details, location, or anything that is not already visible to other viewers of that stream. We do not attempt to identify a viewer beyond the name they are already displaying publicly.
The customer who ran the capture decides how this information is used, including whether it appears on a public leaderboard. We hold and process it on their behalf, and we act on their instructions.
Public leaderboards
A customer can publish a page that ranks their supporters. When published, that page can show a supporter’s public handle, their score, their rank, and — if the customer chooses — the published value of gifts they sent.
Customers control this. They can turn the page off entirely, hide gift values so only scores are shown, or exclude an individual supporter so they never appear. If you are a supporter and you would rather not be listed, you can ask the creator directly, or write to us using the contact details below and we will act on it.
Why we are allowed to hold this
For account information, we process it to perform the contract we have with you as a customer.
For viewer and supporter information, we process it on the legitimate interest of a creator in understanding and recognising the people who support their work, balanced against the interests of the people involved. That balance is why the information is limited to what was already public, why gift values can be hidden, why individuals can be excluded, and why removal requests are honoured.
Where the law requires consent instead, the customer running the capture is responsible for obtaining it.
How long we keep it
Account information is kept while the account is open. Capture and supporter records are kept until the customer deletes them or closes the workspace, after which they are removed. Sign-in sessions expire automatically and expired ones are deleted.
If you ask us to delete information about you, we remove it from our live systems promptly and from routine backups as those age out.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, to object to us processing it, or to ask us to restrict how we use it. You never have to pay to ask, and you will not be treated differently for asking.
To exercise any of these, write to lanceseidman@gmail.com. Tell us the handle or email address involved so we can find the right records. We will respond within one month.
If you are a supporter asking to be removed from a creator’s leaderboard, we will remove you without needing the creator’s permission.
Sharing and international transfer
We do not sell personal information and we do not share it with advertisers. We use a small number of third-party service providers to host and operate the product; they act only on our instructions and only to the extent needed to keep the service running. Some of them operate in countries other than yours, and where that happens we rely on the safeguards required by applicable law.
We may disclose information if we are legally required to, or where it is necessary to protect someone’s safety or our legal rights.
Security
Access to production data is restricted, traffic is encrypted in transit, and passwords are stored only as irreversible hashes. No service is perfectly secure; if a breach ever affects your information we will tell you and the relevant regulator as the law requires.
Children
The product is not for anyone under 18, and accounts may not be created by minors. We do not knowingly retain information about a child. If you believe we hold information about a child, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of the page, and for significant changes we will tell account holders directly.
